Over the Mountain: Steve's Thoughts

Bill Rogers- he shoots musicians - July 21, 2009

Hello, all, and thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon of music, food, and friendship.

I have posted photos from yesterday on my website at http://www.br-digiphoto.com/0907MUSOVERTHEMOUNTAIN
As Slim knows, I was too tired to stick around for the Hillbilly Gypsies. I have Parkinson's disease, and with a 70 mile drive on winding mountain roads facing me, I could not wait another two hours or so. By the way, since Sheetz forced everyone else out of the gasoline business, there don't appear to be any gas stations on Rt. 322 or Rt. 219 between Rockton and Northern Cambria, except for one little place somewhere around Burnside. I was running on fumes when I pulled in.

Chris McGarry, if you're interested in electronic files or prints, please let me know.

Slim, I'll be seeing you soon.

Steve, if you want to post a link to my website, feel free to do so. Just give me credit "PHOTOS BY BILL ROGERS, ISHOOTMUSICIANS.COM" and use the link above.

Finally, Matt Kline, I will e-mail zip files to the e-mail address above. Please provide photo credit as shown above.

Thanks again,

Bill Rogers

Davisson Brothers Band - June 26, 2009

Hi folks- The Davisson Brothers Band is playing in Punxy this Monday at The Groundhog Day Fest. I've seen them three times and they are the cats ass. They lean toward the country side with a little Ozark Mt. Daredevils thrown in. They did a gig last week with The Hillbilly Gypsies (who will be here on July 19th) in West Va. Anyway I'll be going to Punxy on Mon. I been trying to get em to do a show here on the Mt. but had little results, I'll put a bug in their ear on Monday and see what happens.

"Hot Foot Harry" this Sat.- A very talented band- 2/3rds of the "Fender Benders" show about 9:30 or so.

Open Jam with Big Bill on Sunday-

Six String Redemption did a kick ass job last night- thanks guys.

Beckys Marothon - June 25, 2009

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all are having a fantastic week so far! I've been incredibly busy. Working, running, planning my fundraisers and I'm also coaching my SELP (self expression and leadership course) group. I love it though! Just the idea that I'm helpling to make a difference in this crazy world really inspires me. I'm also very lit up by my latest donors. A big hug of gratitude goes out to Marisa Chinn, John Lennon, Jill Villalpando and Linda Bell Blue. Every donation, no matter how much, really fires me up and inspires me! Thank YOU for making a difference!

For those of you who have yet to donate, consider this a friendly, polite NUDGE! My deadline is next month and I would love love love for you to contribute. Remember, it's tax deductible and every dollar helps improve the quality of life for someone less fortunate than you. APLA provides it's clients with dental care, mental health care, bus passes, food banks, health referrals, job training, prevention courses and advocacy on a local, state and federal level.

This Sunday is our 14 mile run! WHOA! I'm very excited and I've been stretching like crazy all week. My knees just kill me if I get tight in the calves and hamstrings. It's amazing what a little pilates/stretching can do for running woes.

I've realized that if this thing we call life really has a purpose, mine is to end suffering. This project is an expression of Love, Compassion and Fun! Please be a part of it :)

Thank you all for being so incredible!

Much Love and Many Thanks!
