Miss THE WEEDHAWKS? - December 22, 2009

Ifen ya missed THE WEEDHAWKS last Sat. and/or Sunday ya still got a chance to redeem yourself. They like it on the Mountain soo much that they decided to stick-around fer a few more days and do another show on Sat Dec 26th. These two are ENTERTAINERS in every way. Their show on Sat. was "the cats ass", one of the best ever on the Mountain. I'm glad they're stayin a while. They might play with Paul tonight fer wing nite, they DID play with "The Gordheads" last night too, what a time, they made us sound good, that ain't an easy thing to do either.

Since we just decided to book em fer Sat I didn't git to advertise in the paper or on the radio, so it would be a huge help if you would help spread the word bout this Sat. show. I know Jason Sopic will do some promoting, he loved em to death, right Jason? So if you could forward this email to all on your list it would help me and The Weedhawks a bunch. YOU GOTTA SEE THIS ACT, I ain't kiddin either. Thanks alot, Merry Christmas Steve

www.myspace.com/weedhawks

Thanks Woolly Mammoth & Hillbilly Gypsies - October 24, 2009

The title says it all, what a night. The music was the BEST, the crowd was really into it, the beer was a flowin, what more could ya ask for.

Woolly Mammoth did a band up job, as I knew they would, and the Gypsies, well what kin I say, they are AWESOME, I don't know any other words to discribe em, just great musicans, good folks and one FUN time. I recommed you seeing them anytime anywhere you can. I consider us very lucky to have an act of that quailty perform here on the Mountain.

Thanks to Bill for running sound, he is a vital part of this place, we love ya Bill.

Stevie and Chris are doing their thing tonight, as I said many times before if you don't like these guys and the music they make, then there is definetly something very wrong with you. Any place would be lucky to have "Six String Redemption" on their show list. And we got em every Thursday and even on a Saturday once in awhile. Ain't we lucky?-damn right we are.

Next Saturday, Halloween, it's a party, prizes fer best costume, free chow, and "Live Bait"( which happen to be one of he better bands in the area) Yea I know, you're thinking he says that bout all the bands, well I guess I do but I ain't blowin smoke, I don't want to call anybody "the fastest gun" so to speak, the quality of musicans we get here are as good as ANY, any where, I been to Nashville six times or so and seen some great stuff too, but I'm telling ya now, hell I ain't sure what I'm tellin ya cept, we git THE BEST MUSICANS here on the Mountain and Nashville ain't got much on us.

Somehow I got off the subject of Halloween, the theme for Saturday is ELVIS- so put on your polyester jumpsuit, dye your hair, grow your chops and I'll see you later baby, thank you thank you very much.

Big Bill is leading the pack Sunday fer the open jam, come out and do a tune for us.

Yee Haw Friday nite - October 23, 2009

Well it's Friday, a good night fer foot stompin and toe tapping.

"WOOLLY MAMMOTH" is on the stage at 8pm, featuring Gene on banjo, Mike on guitar and Ed MacDonald on the stand-up bass. They're warming up fer "THE HILLBILLY GYPSIES" -West Virgina's hardest driving party band- who will be starting around 9:30 or so, it promises to be a hell of a night.

Sat " SIX STRING REDEMPTION" is doing the honors of entertaining the folks, and beleive me they're good at it too.

Sunday- open jam with Big Bill Diehl

Next Sat- Halloween party with "LIVE BAIT" and an Elvis theme.

I gotta git to work see ya soon

SALTEE DOGZ - October 17, 2009

"SALTEE DOGZ"- are you ready. This is one hard band to get, with six members it's like pulling the teeth out of Jaws ( you know the big shark) to git em all together to make some foot stompin-toe tappin music. I been trying to git em for a while now and they ARE here tonight. I kan't name all the guys but I can name most, which are STEVE FELDBAUER (mando-guitar- fiddle- banjo- hell I ain't sure ifen there's any thing with strings he can't play) ED BUKER (stand-up bass) this guys always smiling- makes ya wonder what he knows that the rest of us don't .FRANK STRAUB-yea like the beer (washboard-broiler pan- harmonica and a bunch of other cool stuff) TIM SALTER-another guys thats always happy (guitar) MARC PRAVE (also on guitar) most of you know him from "Blind Jonny Death" a.k.a. "Rusty Gun Revival" one hell of a musician and all around nice guy. I'm sorry I kan't remember the drummers name (oops). I know the weather is shitty but when these guys start tearin into it you'll swear the sun is a shining. I kan't forget Mike Dee formerly of "Shotgun Murphy" is gonna be the sound technician for the evening,

I know I always say it but I'm a sayin it again DON'T MISS THIS SHOW !!!! starts at 9:30

Next Friday "Woolly Mammoth"- a brewgrass brand is openin the night fer West Virginia's hardest driving party band- "The Hillbilly Gypsies"

www.thehillbillygypsies.com
Next Sat "Six String Redemption" if you don't like these guys then you got serious problems and best seek professional help

Wanna hear some great music - September 26, 2009

Wanna hear some great music? Well do ya? Then git your ass offen the couch and head to higher elevations tonight and tomarrow.

Tonight Donnie Beau, Brandon, Donnie M and Erik a.k.a. "Live Bait" will be makin the music on the Mountain, what a good band they are, playing anything form The Beatles to Johnny Cash, The Everly Brothers to Elvis. If these guys kan't git you on the dance floor you must be deafer that I am or just dead. So turn off that damn football game and do something fun.

(show at 9pm)

Sunday, clean from Nashville "The New Soul Cowboys" a national touring act that c a n 't be beat, featuring one hell of a guitar player/singer Anthony Gomes. They been here about 8 or 10 times in the last seven years and have NEVER let us down, these guys are pros at what they do and what they do is entertain. One damn good act that you don't wanna miss.

www.newsoulcowboys.com

Don't forgit every Tue $3.00 wings and $2.00 Coors Light bottle

Every Thursday "Six String Redemption" will make the music while you git fat eatin our $5.00 steak dinner, thats a 8oz sirloin, veggie and taters all for 5 bucks.

"Six String Redemption" - September 24, 2009

"Six String Redemption" is makin the tunes on the Mountain tonight, as they do every Thursday, I can't say enough good about the music these guys play, it's just great stuff. And ifen you don't agree with me on that, then just stay off the Mountain, cause I don't want your business anyway.

It's also $5.00 steak nite, and ifen you don't like that, theres IS something wrong with you. Hell you kan't eat at Mickeys Dee's for 5 bucks.

Friday Night Paul Shimmel and the Rockton Mountain Band are doin a live recording, and you can be part of it, if you want to.

Saturday night it's music with "Live Bait", you ain't gonna hear better music from any band around.

Sunday at 8pm "The New Soul Cowboys" featuring Anthony Gomes, this band has been here 8 or 10 times and it's ALWAYS a treat.

www.newsoulcowboys.c

All kinds of music - September 22, 2009

All kinds of music this weekend, starting on Friday with Paul Shimmel and the Rockton Mountain Band- sounds great don't it? I like it.

BACK ALLEY tonight - September 5, 2009

It's a holiday weekend and whats goes better with a holiday weekend than hot music and cold beer. If you show up tonight thats just what you're gonna get. "Back Alley" is in charge of the hot music and we're in charge of the cold beer. "Back Alley" is takin the stage about 9:30 and I have no doubt the Mountain will be a rockin, this band knows how to make it happen.

What to do? - August 29, 2009

What are ya gonna do on damp-cool-rainey Saturday, well you could just sit on the couch and bitch about the weather or you could come to the Mountain and have some of the "Baked Tater Soup" I made today, then stick around and listen to Paul Shimmel make some music, which by-the-way is almost as good as my soup, well the music might be a bit better than my soup, thats for you to decide.

THE CHARLIE WHEELER BAND- Sept 12th

Paul Shimmel - August 28, 2009

Hey folks, Paul is on the Mountain tomarrow nite. Most everybody thats been here knows Paul and loves his music, and I need to say no more, ifen you ain't ever seen and heard Paul play and sing then you outta do yourself a big favor and drag your ass up here tomarrow to check em out- you won't be dissapointed, I promise. Paul is one of my favorite acts and one hell of a "stand-up" guy. His orignals are as good or better than some of the stuff that comes out of Nashville, I know, I been to Nashville, at least half-a-dozen times, yea his songs ARE that good.

www.myspace.com/paulshimmel

DON'T FORGET Sept 12th "THE CHARLIE WHEELER BAND" is takin the stage- I'm really lookin forward to having these guys here, it took about a year for us to get a date set for this show, this band is TOP NOTCH- i shit you not. If the CD Charlie gave me was a LP (remember what those were?) it would have been worn out about six months ago- I play it that much and it IS that good. Alot of you folks have that same CD, compliiments on The Charlie Wheeler Band, I gave away about 200 of them in the last couple weeks, so you know what I'm talkin about.

Yea Charlie gave me about a gazillion CD's to promote the show on Sept 12th. Chech out their site www.charliewheelerband.com This band is awesome-I shit you not.

I got on this computer a while ago, just dreding doing it cause I knew I'd have a bunch of e-mails to clean up- well I had 1824 messages, of that 1824 I only wanted to read one, after I cleaned em up I went to read the one and the damn thing was blocked for security reasons- what the hell? I think that SPAM stuff should be aginst the law- hell I tried every way I know and I still can't make it taste good. (Thats a joke)

Not Too Late - August 7, 2009

HI Everyone!

So my fundraising deadline is this week! I know it sounds unreasonable, but I've committed to raising 950 more dollars for APLA by the end of the weekend. I know it's possible because of the support I have seen so far. I know many of you have donated already and I thank you and commend you for who you are in this world! My request of all of you out there in email land is the following: If you haven't donated yet, click the link, visit my page and click the link "donate to support Becky." Even if it's five bucks, it still goes to someone who really NEEDS that five bucks! Someone who is living with a disease that has no cure yet. They could use that five dollars to take a bus ride, buy food, or even to do laundry.

If you have donated, first of all, YOU ROCK! Second of all, forward this email and my link to all your friends and let them know that you are supporting this cause and they should too!

This has been such an incredible experience for me. Talk about going out of your comfort zone! This is one of the biggest challenges that I have ever taken on. Asking perfect strangers to support what I'm up to, running insane distances (20 miles last Saturday), and living for something bigger than me.

I thank you all for your support!

Becky
